The clever way to pay your rent

FlexMyRent has been working with Southern Housing (former Optivo tenants) and MTVH to help residents create a personalised rent payment plan so you pay less at those times of the year when money is tight and slightly more when things are that little bit easier.

The FlexMyRent trials have now ended, and we are reviewing the scheme. It is not currently open to new applications. We will contact residents who previously registered by e-mail when the scheme becomes available again.

How does it work?

You still pay the same total amount of rent over the year, but how you pay it is flexible. You can use our website to create your plan, and we send it to your Housing Association for approval. You can always create a new plan if your circumstances change during the year.

Can I take part?

FlexMyRent was only available to selected Housing Association residents. Eligible tenants were invited to register by their Housing Associations.

The trials have now ended, and we are reviewing the scheme. We will contact residents who previously registered by e-mail once the scheme becomes available again.

If you need help

Extra help and support is available if you need it. Your Housing Association can check you are getting any benefits you may be entitled to, or to provide some tips on how to cut the cost of water and fuel bills.

Who are we?

FlexMyRent is a service designed to help people at times when they need it most – often when money is tight. It has been developed by a charity - the Centre for Responsible Credit - in partnership with housing associations and their residents.

Our vision is for residents to feel able to take more control of their personal finances to suit their needs and be supported in doing so by their landlord.

We have been testing FlexMyRent with residents of Southern Housing (former Optivo tenants only at this stage) and MTVH.

We are now reviewing the scheme, and hope to be able to offer this to more tenants in the future.
